Bit of a long shot but has anyone go a basic start map or values I can use to get my M42 running on my old DTA ecu?
Thanks Neil

You'll need to get a map with the correct firmware version (there were three) or it will either idle badly or not run at all.
Do you have the original BMW chip number?

Yeah I have the current ECU I can open this up if needed, but I can't confirm this is the original ECU for this engine would it make any difference? ( idles like a turd at the moment so could be?)
I don't mind if it runs badly as I will tune this out eventually as I'm converting this to throttle bodies... Just wanted a starting point as I can't even make it run as a standard engine yet.

I can supply a 318is bin (binary) file via e-mail for a small fee.

Most software editors will allow you to convert between the various file formats - do you use TunerPro or similar?

Does it not allow you to convert .bin files into .map ones?

Isn't there a dedicated forum that you can visit for .map files?
