hi all. During wet weather, I eventually get no response from my wipers at any speed other than fast. Before this happens, the wipers will stop mid-sweep, so I know it's going to happen....
Anyone any ideas??

Sonds like carbon track inside wiper motor worn. You can take motor out and repair carbon track or replace motor perhaps from a breaker.

Complete how to repair this in technical articles. Very comprehensive - even I was able to do it albeit with cut hands! An hour or so should do it and no cost if you've got some grease.

As above, guide in articles section and it is an easy job to do.
