Right I've finally decided to treat the car to a wheel refurb, and I have decided on Nogaro centres.
Having taken one to a couple of local wheel places it seems I have encountered a few problems.

1 is that Nogaro doesn't come in a powder coat.

2 if I pick a powder coat colour, they cannot guarantee the colour match of the centre caps as they are plastic and will have to be wet painted. Although they said it would be very very close.

Now I have seen plenty of these wheels done in Nogaro, so I assume they are all wet Painted, but I can't see how this type of wheel can be wet painted to a high standard because of the design..

Any advice??

Mine have always been painted ( three times now ) and always had a decent finish.

Ok, so inside the spokes doesn't have quite the deep gloss that the front face does, but unless you're on your hands and knees inspecting them no one will ever notice.
cheers,

Probably because powder is quicker and easier, and doesn't need any surface prep as the powder self levels as it's baked.

Might be better off taking the centres and caps to a painters / bodyshop instead .
cheers,

Lepsons have done a few sets for me in the past and have always done a brilliant job with a top quality finish.

Avoid powder coat, because the centres will be a bitch to match

Painting them shouldn't be a problem either, I've seen lots of sets of these and RS's painted by Dips and they are all spot on.

+1. Been through that when i had my previous set done gold, had to paint the caps 4 times to get a 90% match, still not perfect.

i'm going wet paint this time, i did get the centre stripped in acid bath and had them powder coat primered. now just a light rub and paint time.

Wet paint only, powder coat can cause issues with them going back together, coating thickness etc.... I also doubt they can replicate Nogaro silver properly with powder coat....

These wheels where done in Nogaro Silver by Lepsons and this included the centre caps. The colour seemed good to me.

The powder coaters here will do a gray finish to replicate Nogaro, but it's a lighter finish. Looks a it like the above finish.

Guy in Swansea did my wheels and im happy with the job done. He only paints wheels and dislikes powder coating. Cost me £300 to get the centres fully done both sides and also the caps I got the rims down to 1500 grit and he polished them for me then i rebuilt them.

As long as your going to keep the wheels reasonably clean i cannot see there being a problem with paint.

Don't get your knickers in a twist Rav!

Did i say no one else who can do the same or better job?

NO! I just pointed out that we, Munich legends use Lepsons and they do bbs for us in Nogaro.

And what do you mean nothing is based around the M25? :?

I was mistaken actually about the powder coat, the colour is wet painted then the laquer is powder coat.

Come come Bazza, Grrrrrrrrr.....

I think Lepsons, from what I've read, is overpriced, for what is not a complicated job at the end of the day.
I've used various companies here, and it's a simple process in my eyes.

They do a very good job and what's most important is they are consistent, have a quick turn around and can handle a reasonable volume. They also collect and deliver, remove and refit the tyres so all we need to do is remove them from the car, they pick them up and come back perfect 4 days later ready to bolt straight on.

No grrrr needed, just your response made no sense or relevance to what I said, probably because you were pi ssed and just got home from the pub.

Your replies to me or posts on my thread have been at times consistent with kicking out time.

Booze fuelled zone time is not cool Rav.
