I have an insurance write off E30 convertible (damaged front and rear passenger corners) from which I scavenged the alloy wheels, the interior, hood motors and a couple other things.

We are now getting our driveway done so it really needs to go. I would like to scrap the car or what's remaining of it and wondered if anyone on here knows the best place to scrap it, and what kind of prices I'd expect.

Thanks

Gave A1 a call, they reckon with it not being complete etc they would pay nothing for it if they have to collect it. If I can get it over to them (not an option no front rear suspension) then they will pay scrap metal value per tonne.

Any other suggestions?

can you blame them, it costs to collect and scrap prices are so low - i broke an e30 and couldn't drive it either. So i ended up hiring a trailer and effectively cut the car into 4 bits with a 115mm grinder - would i do it again no. It just to much hassle wasn't particular hard but awkward to move - i made more from my alloys

Free pickup for a immobile shell sounds OK to me. Especially if you need the space.

The coooonts wanted £45 for an E36 15" alloy with a half decent tyre ! Luckily I asked before risking death removing one .

The only positive aspect with all of the local yards being so greedy, is that I can ask more for my carefully removed preowned morsels :)
