As per title, I am looking to put an aluminium tank in the spare wheel well, can someone advise on what fuel pump I should use etc picture and setup details would be a good help.
The car is going to be for track use with the chance of odd road use.
Many thanks Neil

Lift pump, swirl pot and then high pressure pump to engine, expensive procedure for very little if not zero gain
Also dont forget your fuel weight at the moment is in the ideal place, moving it to the rear and higher up will turn your car into somewhat of a pendulum, especially as it is a touring which is already heavier at the rear compared to a saloon

Dan the fuel tank is leaking at the moment, hence the plan to change it, should I just repair and use it in its current location? Will the I tank pump etc be up to the job? Thanks

Mine is leaking as well, you can buy a brand new one from GSF car parts for circa 200 quid!Neilios wrote:Dan the fuel tank is leaking at the moment, hence the plan to change it, should I just repair and use it in its current location? Will the I tank pump etc be up to the job? Thanks

Just wanted to ensure the pump etc was up to the job for a M52 conversion. If so will look to retain the original style tank and location, I may run new pipes inside of the car.

The standard pump is fine, ive just replaced the fuel pipes on my track car, I used plastic coated aluminium tube, I wouldnt fancy running them inside the car though!

Looks like a good condition OE setup it is then with new lines underneath tucked away.

A general point for anyone carrying out these kinds of mods. Check the 'constructions and use' regulations, or whatever they're called these days, to make sure you don't contravene any of them, if you intend to use your car on the road as well as track. A car can pass a MOT test with flying colours and still be absolutely illegal to use on the road.

Thanks for the guidance, will look into what the potential implications are.
