M52 dipstick nightmare

Hi guys, im most of the way through my m52 b28 conversion and iv hit a problem with the dipstick. I got my e34 sump cheap, but it didnt come with a dipstick or dipstick tube. I wasnt worried as I thought I could just buy one from ebay or bmw but after a phone call to bmw, they told me there are 3 choices of dipstick tube for the e34 525i. How do I know which to buy? Does anyone know if they are the same length? Im hoping they might just have different breathers or brackets on them. If I fit the wrong length tube or stick I could obviously ruin my new engine, so you can understand my worries! Cheers, jack

As long as its from an E34 with an M50 engine it doesnt matter, as the length is the same, there are only 2 different types ive noticed and thats just about the fixing bracket, not the length
