Hi all,
I have a 320i baur with an m20 engine and on the whole runs ok but I am going to give it a service soon as I have not had it too long and not done many miles but of late i do get a sudden loss of power where I seem to lose revs.
If I stop and then restart the car it runs fine again. This is my first beamer and I would welcome any tips and advice on looking after it.
The only other problems I have is the erractic temp gauge and I don't know what all the red lights on the overhead console mean so any info on this would be great

Temp. gauge is a loose brass nut on the back of the instrument cluster.
Red LEDs are low fluid level warnings and failure warnings for legally required bulbs. None should be lit after pressing the brake pedal for the first time after starting the engine.
For the power loss thing, we need to know what version of the M20B20 engine you have. There were major changes to the management system around '87.
Welcome to the zone on behalf of the management, BTW.
