Why anyone would chop a roof up to fit that crap is beyond me :eek:

It was, but not on BMWs. Cars in this market sector mainly came with a sunroof as standard - how often do you come across a BMW without one? Just two in my entire collection - one absolute poverty spec. and the other with aircon.
With a well known zone trader apparently having an E30 non sunroof roof only on ebay for £800*, it would be a bit silly chopping this in.

*Now dropped to £200, IIRC.

I think the 800 was for the interior and 200 for the roof

The OP's original pic looks very much like the sort of thing you'd find on a Mk3 Escort XR3i.

I did actually have an E30 breaker in with one of these fitted. I did the decent thing, and left it on the shell when it went to the crusher.
