I am looking at replacing my transmission, 220k on it. Started slipping and sounded like I was dragging some tin cans behind the car. It stopped about five miles into it after it warmed up. I have an automatic, want to do direct replacement with same, but I am curious what years I can use, and also what other things to do while I have it off?
Also maybe some pointers for any problem areas during replacement. I have done a full engine/trans swap on these cars before, but never just transmission through the bottom...
