it is relevant ,my problem and dooce's to show potential buyers whom they will be dealing with here.
in the same circumstances i would have no problem refunding someone after reading their build thread and seeing how the time lapse cam about .
i only have good words for the likes of Brian28 ...
you said it yourself

also if what you are saying is that after all the pm's and then a case against you that you only refunded him when the returned parcel was signed for you admitted your mistake by refunding him at the very last occasion/opportunity to do so then this just shows again how you go about/conduct your business .
only when there is no where left to go and no one left to blame and no way out of it will a refund be given .
this is a car forum where people help each other out ,you have no place here.

If that's what you believe then so be it but any right minded person would not be trying to get a refund when the warranty is one month out of date, then go slagging a business off on a private forum that's what I call scum it's totally uncalled for and not needed
Sorry was meant to say public not private forum

get it right fella it's clear you are the pond scum that darkens the zones selling reputation,if i had of been in the 90 days paypal claim period then i too would of had to open a case against you.
i have no doubt about that.
and you will find this is actually a public forum .

The difference with dooce is that he put a case up on paypal before contacting me so i was obviously going to contact him as to why he done it he was still unsure what do with the diff but got his foot in the door as regards to the refund time limit(good thing to do IMO if there's a problem) and we went from there he got his money as soon as I got the diff so I wasn't keeping it from him, yet again this has nothing to do with you.magpie wrote:also if what you are saying is that after all the pm's and then a case against you that you only refunded him when the returned parcel was signed for you admitted your mistake by refunding him at the very last occasion/opportunity to do so then this just shows again how you go about/conduct your business .

it just shows me and everyone who reads this who they are dealing with .
all you had to do was refund me , the only foolish thing i've done was trust you .

would you work on a sorned car out on the drive in the middle of winter on the top of a mountain in the worst weather you will ever encounter ?
i think not.
when i bought that Diff i knew it wouldn't be fitted and tested until the weather got warmer and i knew that the 90 days of a paypal case would be over .I then noticed you were quite active on here and had no BAD feedback so i trusted you .
yes as you said...more fool me.

Being sorned does not make a difference as to the weatherI don't know as I haven't experienced it but I wouldn't have bought a diff knowing I wasn't going to fit it for a few months in case there was a problem with it and I couldn't send it back
I thought the idea of forum was that owners, who share a passion and enthusiasm for their cars, help one another out?
Don't get me wrong, I've bought and sold bits myself, but if they're faulty I try and make good on the deal. Most people on here are the same I imagine? I've only been ripped off once in recent years. (Grayday1810)
Surely then benefit of the doubt and a refund (partial or total) is preferable to this? Surely you'll lose more in sales, than you would have refunded?

the noise is coming from under/behind the rear seat ,the car has a good prop-shaft fitted with a brand new center bearing .
the first diff was sent to gareth on here when brian28 got it back from me and needed a full refurbish .the 2nd diff started to make a noise after about a year and then the clutch plates needed replacing so i bought one from you instead of paying £500 on a rebuild.

I do that's why every part comes with a 3 month warranty as stated on the invoice which is more than fair.Hoobs wrote:I thought the idea of forum was that owners, who share a passion and enthusiasm for their cars, help one another out?

In which case, wouldn't you want to do right by a fellow enthusiast?
Can I just ask, the 3 month warranty you give, is a) 3 months of use or b) 3 months to check the item is fit for purpose?
If a) are you suggesting the buyer has had over 3 months use with no complaints? or b) he had time to fit and check the item and had he done so, within 3 months, you would have happily refunded his money?
If it's a) then I agree, you are well within your rights. If it is b) though, and he were able to prove he had not used the diff' and become aware of its poor condition, (so it must have been faulty all along) would a refund not be the decent thing?
If you simply don't believe the diff was ever faulty and therefore he doesn't deserve a refund, then so be it. But escaping on a technicality seems churlish. Surely it makes sense to find an amicable solution?

torsen or clutch lsd? this was sold to me by alpina123 as a torsen and after much hassle was finally refunded. I would of had no issue keeping this if it wasn't completely shot. I could rotate the outputs in opposite directions by hand very easily.

Well I have to say, the diff is 100% whining it's tit's off.....
Mick's just been to mine, I jumped in the back and took a short vid so you can hear what i can hear,
if it was a "clutch type diff" i would say the clutch plates have gone,
you can hear the whine when he's going on the power and when coming off,
and it rises in pitch with the rise of the revs.
You can see the diff hasn't been abused on a track car with little oil in or anything of the sort,
Mick's an honest guy who has hundreds and hundreds of dealings with people over the forum, ebay, facebook etc etc
and if there was any sort of problem he would be onto it like a flash,
if you were in his position im sure 1000% he would refund you, knowing the car or diff hasn't been used until recently,
surely you can see where hes coming from,
the cars been off the road for sometime but now it's on the road and he finds that one of the major components ( he bought in good faith ) is not what it was advertised to be, he has a right to be a bit miffed,
I know I wouldn't be biting my tongue as much as he is...
Anyway,
time for name that tune........................

The videos not working for me, when I had the diff it was fine no whines at all I would happily have refunded it if it hadn't been 4 months in all honesty if you sold a diff which you knew was fine warranted it for 3 months then 4 months later get someone demanding a refund you wouldn't be happy

well, to be honest, If i knew the car of the diff had not been used in that 4 month, then it transpired that the same diff was infact, faulty, then, yeah, i would either part refund, or ask for the diff back, thats how I am personally,
your now probably sitting there thinking, (yeah your full of sh!t but, im not)
