i bought a torsen 3.07 diff from this seller on here in December ,
the diff was only driven/used in my car on Friday just gone and it's whining ,i paid £260 delivered for this part and he will not entertain any sort of refund whatsoever .He knows my car has been sorned through the winter and i've only just started to use the car again as it's all in my build thread where i directed him to but seeing as he's posted on there in the past he knows anyway.

he also sent a clutch type LSD to a friend of mine on here claiming it to be a torsen diff who had to open a paypal case to get his money back after being refused by the seller alpina123 .

sadly i can't do this as my 90 days are up !

What is your problem there is nothing wrong with that diff I drove the car it had done 50k miles I even gave it a 3 month warranty why leave it four months to complain! I would happily have changed it if it were int he three months that's what a warranty is but the fact it's been four there is nothing I can do.

fook the warranty that does not stand up as Dooce on here found out when you sold him a torsen diff and a clutch type turned up ...

how did you get on with that diff,was it resolved ?

i only ask as the one he sold me is whining and he's not interested basically .

Yeah, he refunded my money but only after I opened a paypal claim as I was still within my 45 days. With you being outside that window I dont see him helping much tbh. Customer service isnt a strong suit of his! if I remember right, he is the son of the owner at the yard he is grabbing parts from, maybe give his daddy a call haha

I disagree,if he sold it to an ebayer then yes 4 months is too long,but to a fellowzoner who he knows has his car layed up and has only had the chance to test it properly then sort him another diff or refund.....

Dooces diff was not a clutch plate I have it here, you obviously don't understand so I'll explain it again If there was a problem within 3 months I would happily replace the diff but know it's been four months?no refund simple, and the car had damage to wing and n/s door and was cat d I have photos of the car as proof it ran and drove fine!

Well why not buy the diff a couple of weeks before the car goes back on the road? I can't offer a refund four months later, if I bought an engine off you fitted it 4 months later and overheated it I would NOT expect a refund of any sort

the Diff wasn't available a couple of weeks ago was it .

the first lsd i bought for my m50 conversion was noisy when i fitted it ,that diff was bought from Brian28 on here and i had bought it some 2 months or more before i fitted it as i was doing a complete conversion and again i waited until some decent weather before fitting it,also gathering parts through the winter [common practice with projects] .

when i told him about the diff he refunded me straight away and i sent him the diff back .

now that's how things should be done when there is photographic proof on a fellow zoners build thread to back things up.

your clearly just here to take ,this is two people you've fooked over now and i think you should be banned before it happens again!

The other person is irrelevant he is not me, and by the sounds of it was still within 3 months, sounds like you have a problem with whining diffs probably something else on your car.

I agree here BUYER BEWARE when dealing with alpina123. I bought a torsen lsd and received a clutch plate lsd (confirmed by 4 different, unbiased people) and after much hassle I was refunded my money only after I opened a paypal dispute. Needless to say the transaction was very painful, I will not do business with him again.

How many times that diff is not a limited slip diff! You weren't refunded instantly as you very we'll know we tried to resolve the issue also the money is not refunded until It is returned

hey mate i had the car out tonight for the first real drive of it since i put the diff in and it's winding ...p1ssed off isn't the word .
i thought when looked inside that things looked a bit black like dirty old oil .

at this point i'm pretty much done with changing diffs after the carry on i had getting the last bolt in the top of this one when i fitted it so we can work it out two way's,

a part refund and i live with it or i take it out for a full refund and look for another one .

What oil did you put in it, it had done 50k and was out of an 02 plate car which we drove and we had no issues with it ?

I put fully synthetic 75/90 in it and a new back plate gasket at the same time.

What's it actually doing then just whining? It's just these diffs arent problematic it had done 50k miles and isn't your usual medium case diff, and considering I drove the car as we do everything to test engine and drivetrain it was fine

Yes it's whining, There was black residue on the internals when i took the back plate off ,look at the bottom right of pick where i wiped my finger across ,in my experience it's caused by worn bearings ,probably the input shaft .



the noise in my car is 100% coming from under the rear seat when driving.

I'm sorry mate but I really am finding it hard to believe it's the diff, just because the oil was black does not mean it is ****** when you first fitted it and do a burn out was it ok then?

i know what a noisey diff sounds like that's why i bought another one ,this one isn't as bad but it still whines .

sat at 2k revs in top gear i need to put the radio on as it's doing my head in and also embarrassing when i have passengers .

the small burn out was to check it that both rear wheels were being driven nothing else ,the car had no mot or tax then so i was in the car for a very short time ,less than a mile.
if you have any business up my way i'll take you out in it and you can see for yourself .

So it's been nearly four months? Also the oil you used was it the correct oil for the diff?did you putt he right amount in and did you have budget tyres fitted?

firstly the diff was never tested until recently and the car was only driven on it's first outing last night since it was taxed on weds gone.

yes the diff was topped up to the max,i then rotated the shafts and checked the level again and the oil i used was triple QX 75/90 fully synth.
read through my build thread last couple of pages ...the rear tyres were bald when i tested the diff and have just been changed for the mot again all in my build thread .

We'll I know there was nothing wrong with that diff when it left me having tested it, it comes with a 3 month warranty it's now been four the fact that you say you could live with it suggest to me it's not that bad I don't know what else you want me to do

you either refund me or part refund me ,it's your reputation on here that will suffer .

i'm going to see a mate of mine and get him to try and video the noise when i'm driving .....

Look I really don't know what you want me to say/do, Dooce got a refund when I got the diff back, you don't because it's been 4 months you go ahead and write bad feedback about me but it's as simple as this read the receipt every part comes with a 3 month warranty which is long enough regardless of you not wanting to get cold or wet fitting a diff if you had let me know you thought the bearing was no good when you got it I could have swapped it or refunded you the fact it's been four months means there is nothing I can do about it.
