M40 to M20B25 what fuel pump?? URGENT

Hi there!

I am doing a conversion from a M40 316i to M20B25, DO I need to replace the M40316i fuel pump?

My car is a 1989 M40 with the fuel pump inside the tank the M20B25 is taken out of a pre facelift car (1986, the hi compression engine) and the pump is located out side the tank. (I have checked the fuel lines of the M40 and M20B25 and are the same size 8mm both).

Any help will be much appreciated!!

Nope your fuel pump, if in good condition will be fine and many people have used them with the M30B35 so your M20 will be just fine.
