On the sport seats base that whole center panel including the bit with the adjustable knee support. Does anybody know if that can be swapped left to right seats. The drivers one is starting to show signs of wear but the passenger ones like brand new. I know the center bit comes off but it whether they can be swapped with the passenger one.

Any ideas ??????

Wouldnt it be easier to swap the seats complete? That would also give the drivers seat bolster a chance of lasting longer as well.

I believe it can yes. In fact i've used a whole passenger base / frame / bolsters (the best of the four) to rebuild my drivers seat base. the only thing that can't be swapped over is the height adjust lever. that's now tucked down the side of the transmission tunnel, a fair price to pay for a very fresh seat though!

Whole height/tilt adjuster mechs. are easy to swap from side to side. The little L shaped piece right in the middle just levers out, then there is a spring loaded latch that you hold back to allow the whole mechanism to be rotated about thirty degrees and then lift off.

Had both seats out this afternoon as carpet was coming out. Tipped both upside a took a peek and looks do-able. Just didn`t want to go ripping things apart if it was a no go. Job for Sunday i think.

in the meantime, try to scrounge a very large bit of cardboard or some carpet. There's a lot of rolling the seat about on the floor to be done and a garage/drive floor will make a mess of the covering
