has anyone diy smoked their front indicator lenses with any success - or does it look awful??
using a spray like this one:-

my advise if you are going to dIY it is spray them from the inside. they will appear darker from outside but not black.
go to a scrap yard find any broken indicator, and spray that as a tester.

true enough Simon - they aren't that expensive - although after changing all of the front indicators and getting specialist bulbs it is priceier than i thoughtSimon wrote:For the price of them just buy some new ones!

I'd like to smoke front fogs and haven't seen these available smoked so thought it may involve the task of taking the lamps appart and spraying the glass (yes definately from the inside Mr Lee [love your car by the way])

i was also toying with smoking my foglights in the following manner, i was going to open the lens with the heat gun, then i was going to take some aluminium mesh (the kind you would find on windows on holiday to keep flies/mosquitos etc out), this i would spray black and simply silicone it inside the glass lens then stick it back together. i reckon it would appear black, but would not block out the light.
my car all in pieces at the moment as its getting a respray, so was gonna try the fog light thing soon. i will let you know.
As i have mentioned many times in the past if you are going to DIY anything i find the best bet is to go to a scrap yard and find a broken light, then experiment on that before doing it to your own equipment.
