318is - M42

The AFM adjustment screw has been played with previously to pass its MOT, i'm fully aware of the issues which caused emissions to be wrong (split boot) which have now been sorted.

Since the AFM has been adjusted to compensate for the air leak it would now be incorrect (not at factory setting) now the leaks been fixed.

Would there be any benefit to adding an lambda sensor thus bypassing the adjustment in the AFM. Would there be any efficiency / performance gains? The car doesn't have a cat.

Im not experiencing any running issues and it has passed the last couple of MOTs, was just thinking a lambda sensor would be a more modern/reliable/efficient way of controlling the fuelling.

Or forget the above and hook up to an exhaust analyser and adjust the AFM screw accordingly.....

If it was me I would get the AFM correctly set rather than try and add a lambda sensor. Then again if it was me I wouldn't have adjusted the AFM in the first place.
