Hi hi hi

Just wondering, were the wish bones slightly different between the 4pot models and the 6pot models including tourings.

Just replaced one on my touring with one I had spare off a 4pot saloon and its changed my tracking.

What's going on???

Cheers. :)

As far as I am aware the arms are all the same except the m3 and the original tourings which had ally arms but most will have been changed for the cast type by now.
Have you fitted the lollipop bushes too as they can have offset centres which will throw it right out

I have Polly offset bushes and I kept them as they were and swapped it on to the new wishbone. Its bugging me about because I can't figure it out. I can't of fit it wrong. There's nothing to get wrong. Also I need to buy a new one or pair now and fit them and get the tracking done again haha

Any parts swap on front suspension/steering needs to be followed by a tracking check.

Oh. I figured that if I was swapping them like for like I wouldn't have too. There are no adjustability on the part I have changed. If I had fit a new adjustable part like a track rod end then I would defiantly see why the tracking would need doing again. Sorry if I'm wrong. I usually am :D I see how it's always best to get it checked again any way.

But does anyone know if they differ at all. Maybe to match the different trut diamiters? That's my line of thought.

I've never come across any differences in E30 wishbones apart from cast and Ali.

You'd be surprised at what unbolting and bolting suspension components does. I've fitted a few ball joints/arms etc to different cars and has knocked the tracking out on occasion. Whenever I do suspension work I'll always check the tracking, it's cheaper than tyres.

That's interesting then I didn't realise it could knock it outso much when swapping like for like bits.

I'll go get my tracking redone then.

Cheers guys :)

Might be made by different manufacturer or old one might be bent. You may have set the tracking with a duff joint last time.
