So let's begin by saying my e30 has seen better days in its lower halfs.
On the rear valance around the towing eye and exhaust outlet it's going a little rusty. So I've decided to cut out the crap. With my wire wheel. I have now discovered that there is no such thing as a rear valance repair panel. The damage dosent come above the bumper when fitted so can I just put an mtech rear bumper on it and plate the bottom of the valance to make it weather proof? If I was to re make the entire bottom of the valance I'd be there for a month of Sundays fettling and shaping making it look original.
If I go down this road will I then need to get a front bumper skirts and a spoiler to make it look 'complete'?
I'll try and get some pictures.

This is a bit pointless without pictures, but the rust around the towing eye is very common. Just plate it - remember that you need to spray on a rubberised stone chip and paint it afterwards anyway, so reshaping it isn't as technical as it sounds. You can always cut the repair into pieces so that you're only working on one flat surface at a time; the rear valance isn't really a complex shape, unless the entire corner has rotted out.
A car with just a rear Mtec valance on will look a bit retarded.
