Bilstein B6 or B8
Moderator: martauto
Hi guys I'm on the market for some new suspension for my E30 Touting 325i, so have settled on H&R Super Sport Springs and Bilsteins but can anyone advise which Bilstein B6 or B8?
As I've heard they are pretty similar just wanted to hear from someone who has them.
Cheers Mike

There's a world of difference between stock suspension + 100,000 miles and rebushed stock suspension with stock new dampers.Mrmyke00 wrote:I looked at the b4's but they seemed too close to stock suspension
To the OP, what size wheels and tyres are you using?
Used B6 on standard ride height and find them pretty comfortable,
So comfortable that I have 4 new sets

breaking loads of e30 coupes,tourings,convertibles,baurs,sports etc, e39 sport breaking e36 m50 sport breaking e36 m3 breaking, e28 breaking, e24 breaking
Some on here in the past have said that B6's are stiff and B8's to be stiffer.
There's loads of contrasting views on which are longer if you do a search plenty of threads come up.
I've got a set of new B6's waiting in a box in my loft but that's partly as I got them at a good price. I haven't actually driven on either before.

I was sorting Wheels and tyres after I sorted suspension to see what fits best, Ideally I wanted 16" but all the wheels I like so far are 15", which was going to be my next question is this too small and what tyres would you recommend if I did go down the 15" route?
205x55x15 is the correct tyre size for an E30 with 15" wheels.
Quite a limited choice available now in this size.
You can still get Continental, Vredestein Sportrac, Kumho and Hankook. I've just fitted 4 Falken ZE914s to mine and been quite impressed so far.
