I'm looking at alarms, trackers etc and figured I would get some advice and see what others have done?

I'd like to fit a tracker, but with there being relatively minimal space to hide a unit, which would be best?

I already remove the steering wheel but what else can be done, to try and make an e30 harder to move, to help guard against simply being winched onto a trailer or truck?

If a thief is determined, then there's nothing you can do to stop them taking your car. It's the opportunists you need to stop, and in that case a steering wheel lock and a fuel pump cut-off switch hidden somewhere are the simplest and safest solutions.

Yes, I realise that if someone turns up with a trailer, or transporter and electric winch, the chances of stopping them are limited but I want to be able to find and/or follow my car if that were to happen. M3's get stolen all too often and I don't want mine to be another statistic. I already remove the steering wheel and have a Clifford alarm, for when it isn't in secure storage, but it's tracking that I want.

at least with a tracker, and you notice it gone imidiatly, you get a chance to give chase and get it back, before they get it stripped and removed etc

idea i had - was get an old iphone like a 3gs or 4, with a sim card and have it on permanent power hidden away so its not like a regular tracker install/easily found- and also has a long stand by time if its not being used- 24 hrs or more, incase the battery is dissconected , and an iphone could be hidden in all manor of sly places strapped to or inside anything well away from the behind dash or engine bay area , all you need to do is wire a usb power cable in the car

and use the find my iphone function to track it , that way if its ever stolen whilst your out with it or anything- you can follow it instantly with the phone in your pocket or anyones phone with internet

you could even give it a test all around a radius of the places you are mostly - get 2 cars and an iphone/a mate with one or whatever , and tell him to drive off and try to outfox you by parking up in quiet places, garage/lock up ares and you track and find him , and just see how it works- been meaning to do this myself but not got round to it yet

Try quartix.net
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
