Hi E30 people,
joined this website in a desperate bid to seek a little help.

Am the owner of a neon green convertible, which have had for nearly two years.
Been running perfectly well until a week ago when it decided to not run. New battery fitted and getting a good spark. Plenty of petrol in it but just will not fire.

Hopefully looking for the help from someone in the Yeovil area who knows a bit about these cars. Admittedly I don't.
Am fine with x-flows and the like :? .

Please advise if you can assist.

M40 engine, I presume?

Try spraying some carb or brake cleaner into the throttle body whilst cranking it over.

Not many of 'em left...

Any way,you are getting a spark,so that should rule out the crank position sensor,is fuel being delivered to the fuel rail?
Is the fuel pump working when you are cranking the engine?

I would start by lifting the rear seat base out and taking off the cover to the fuel pump, then connecting a bulb to the feed/return wires and checking that it lights when cranking.

The above should make it cough and fire like it's thinking about starting.
Remove the fuel pump relay (orange four pin under the LH side of the bulkhead wiring cover, pull it out, and link together pins 30 and 87 of its base. You should easily hear the fuel pump running at the rear of the car.
