Expensive for a modified car with poly rear beam bushes.

Not particularly modified imo. Don't like the diamond cut wheels, lose the filter, bring up the ride height...
Nice straight bodywork, low miles, service history, not great interior spec but never the less don't see many nice examples of tourings come up.

I'm still occasionally searching classifieds waiting for an alpina 2.7 touring to come up for sale. Then I might sell mine.

Keep toying with going to have a look as it's only down the road from work and my ideal colour combo (other than malachite).......but I think I might upset him when I tell him I only see it at about 3 bags max!

There's a very nice 318is on ph for £4750. Values seem to be creeping up for good e30s so you'd be very lucky to get it for 3.

Think you're right, I suppose I'm just looking for a really good strong 6 pot base car that isn't going to need a shed load of metal work before I start playing with it.....I'm off this week after the birth of our son, so I might sneak out and have a look at it and make a decision......Bump wrote:There's a very nice 318is on ph for £4750. If you're looking at tourings, there's not a great deal of difference between a four pot and a six pot 'base' car.

I know Bri.....It's just that I wanted a 325i ideally as the engine will be the last thing to play with and tooling about in a 4 pot in the meantime would do my swede in!!!!Brianmoooore wrote:If you're looking at tourings, there's not a great deal of difference between a four pot and a six pot 'base' car.

^^^ In the real world there are many people who say "If I had a spare £2000" or "If I had the room" or "If I didn't have too many projects on" etc etc but alas if nobody crosses his palm he has a business to run/mouths to feed. It's life, I would have fragged it too!Rich2388 wrote:I still cant believe he broke that touring up! That was criminal! If i had a spare 2k id have bought it myself instead of see get broken up. How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

No.....It's all about seeing something before the advertising party decides to reduce it to a thousand pieces and spread it to the 4 winds!.......In my case anyway.......darkchild wrote:Its all about waiting for those bonds to mature!Duke137 wrote:In the real world there are many people who say "If I had a spare £2000" or "If I had the room" or "If I didn't have too many projects on" etc etc but alas if nobody crosses his palm he has a business to run/mouths to feed. I think your perspective is the right one. Find a good shell and then that's your base car. Thats more important than the engine really.
