The B6S was M3 based so yes they did do them for M3's.

I'm guessing the chassis wouldn't have been strong enough on the convertible to handle the torque for Alpina to stick the M30 in.
Iirc from my magazines on E21 B6 2.8, the rear quarter windows didn't open to keep the car stiff.
