I've been reading the engine swap E30wiki page and i spotted a point which did'nt quite add up

"Clutch

The clutch has to match the gearbox you are using. No matter whether it's M5x, M20 or M42, the preferred brand of clutch is Sachs. Make sure that this includes the release bearing. "

Yet i'm fitting an M42 Gearbox and it says slightly further down the wiki page that i need to use the M20 Clutch and bearing.

Which is the correct clutch for the M42 Gearbox?

Cheers

Clutch (and starter motor) has to match the flywheel you are using, not the gearbox.

I'm guessing you're doing an M42 conversion, so you can use either M42, M40 or M20 flywheel, but as Brian said, the clutch and starter must match whichever flywheel you use.

You can always trust the "bunch of c.u.n.t.s" to supply the correct tech. info.

I thought swearing was forbidden on the zone?

I think Brianmooooore is referring to a previous comment of mine, which implied that the majority of the experts on here whilst having a very comprehensive knowledge of the E30 both in and out, they seem to lack the basic manners and don't appreciate the saying "everyone has a preference"

But like i said, thanks for the information.

I'll let it go for £100 on here plus postage.
Now to me, the above comment doesn't come across at all like the explanation below...

Still, nice to know what you think of those who take the time to try and help you out

Hey i admit i was in the wrong, maybe i was a bit bold with the comment, but my point is still vaild in respect.

I do appreciate the help and some of the zone members have given me some brilliant advice, but there is still a number out there who voice thier oppinion as if it's gospel.

Just saying, and again thanks Brianmooore for the help i do appreciate it.
