I've seen worse with MOTs !

Stop teasing, we need to see CLOSE ups of the erogenous bits.
There will be nasty bits, they all have them

Get the boot side carpets off and also pay particular attention to the bulkhead behind the glovebox and the roof skin where the sunroof cassette is bonded to it. 5 mins each side will get the grab handle off, the door arperture seal pulled away and the headlining carefully unpeeled from the seal lip . If you get showered with orange flakes, we need pics !

Did you buy this off the zone?
Looks good enough to do the job properly. Like Pete said seen worse with a MOT

It has the high compression 25 6k engine, so that's a good start...

Hi...yes, of the zone....and I was thinking the same...do the job properly...strip all the panels off and see what needs doing...

Sorry, the 25 6K is the later low compression (Katalysator) engine.
It should give around 170bhp, if in a good state of tune, particularly with a six-branch fitted.

As prices seem to be going up (as it has come to my attention on another thread), you should definitely do a good job as you will be able to demand the better value for the future if you was to ever sell.

I don't like the look of the spray-on sealant around the inner wheel arches, to it's worth prodding them with a screwdriver to make sure they're solid.
It also looks like you've got water ingress in the cabin; look at the rusty drips above the orane and blue relays. You'll want to find out where that's coming from before putting the carpet back in.
Overall though, it looks like a solid shell and a very good base for a project. Nice one

Cheers!

...I am happy with it...I have a feeling this will be a top to bottom rebuild...of whatever needs doing...

I'd scrap that. It's got the ski hatch panel missing

Looks like it will need a bit more sheet steel than a ski hatch to get this chariot back in order!

Shame the OP is so far away, I would gladfully spend 15 mins with my trusty flatblade digging holes for a large mixed kebab

Maybe Rav could go around and do an autopsy ? he has plenty of experience with rusty scrap

It's the massive hole that goes into the boot space from when your back seat rest would go.
