Looking to replace my empty tool box in the boot of my 318i with.....(surprise) some tools.
Can't make out exactly what tools used to be in there by the empty recesses in the tool box though. Can anyone help?
It's an F reg 318i 2 dr.
Cheers!

What do you need? Got a few bits hanging around.

Thanks mate!
Is that the complete set then? Seems to have a few spaces for other bits?

Z shaped allen key is only with electric sunroof, and there is a place for the splined theft resistant locking wheelnut adaptor.smithy318i wrote:there are 4 bits missing

Can't think what the white plastic thingy and allen key rod is.

The white plastic thingy is the emergency window locking tool. Its used with the long reach allen key and screwdriver handle to lock the electric windows if they should fail. The centre screw (long allen key) should be tightened, then the glass can be moved by turning the hexagon. Finally the screw is backed off two turns and now the glass will stay put. Now a quick look behind the blanking plugs will tell you if you actually need item the locking tool or not. Many BMWs already have suitable hexagons fitted to all the window mechanisms, and it is entirely superfluous. However, you might need it for the rears but not the fronts. Given that the locking tool is a loose fit in the wrench, and the whole thing has to be poked into the rear side trim about five inches, your chances of successfully deploying item the locking tool without it falling inside the rear trim panel is about nil, unless it is secured with a little blu-tac or something.
