sometimes you can just brush the corrosion off with a wire brush as its only surface rust

Not as bad to do as the brake lines as you can wiggle them above the tank via a slightly different route.

I bought a set of fuel pipes from BMW a few years ago. Surprised they were still available and at a reasonable cost of 29 quid for the 2 flow and return pipes.

Fitting, to be fair it only took me about 90 minutes.(1.6 variant). The under floor fuel pipe brackets can be a pain to get off.

Hope this helps.

Not too bad to fit as long as the brackets and clips play ball - I bought the 3 pipes - feed, return and vent - about 3 years ago - cost around £50 then from the stealers
you could always make your own copper ones if you want to do it on the cheap

that don't sound to bad, from the dealers are they pre formed or is it a straight pipe that needs shaping?

pre formed so they should fit perfect and IIRC they are steel pipes coated in black plastic - I gave mine an extra covering of waxoyl too so they should last another 25 years.
