Guys, just wondering if anybody has attempted this or managed to do it ?

Ive got the car down to a rolling shell now (in prep for the spary and new engine) and ive always had a brake problem and been told it may be the transfer bar (behind the dash). Can be a weak system as it has to transfer from one side, through pivots etc and then into the servo.

It may just need a complete strip and new seals, springs, pivots, bush's, o-rings and pipes etc - which ill probably do anyway.

TBH it doesnt look possible as the master cylinder is too long and wouldn't fit without part of the strut upright support being cut out ? But thought id check.

Just wondered if its possible to transfer it all direct to drivers side ?
Oh, i should mention this is a track car so as you can imagine, brakes are going to be well depended on...

thanks in advance.
James.

Glenn has done this on his M5 V8 conversion. Take a look here....Click Me
The pics start a few messages down, with some more pics about halfway down the page.

There was a mod part way through E30 produstion which added an extra bracket between the bracket that holds the crank arm for the servo and the transmission tunnel. This tightened the arrangement up a bit.
Does yours have this bracket?

i had modified it since those pics were taken.
i used a servo/master cylinder off a mk3 transit as the servo was smaller, the master cylinder was a 25mm unit and the servo activation arm was long enough to reach the pedal without a joint.
