Not sure if you need a fault light reset but... how did you know which abs sensor to change? It could be a wiring problem and not a sensor problem and diagnostic equipment can't really tell the difference.

Good luck with it 325nut

Do a search loads of info on this on here. Brian moore is the man if you still get really stuck. As a starter check the resistances of the abs sensors and come back with the results.

ABS warning light reset is automatic when the fault is repaired.
There are two sorts of ABS fault:
1/ The ABS light comes on with ignition, goes out when engine starts, comes on again when you start moving.
This is usually a sensor fault. Disconnect all the sensors (front inner wings, and under rear seat), and measure their resistance.
Should all be just under 1000 ohms. More important, should all be the same.
2/ ABS light comes on with ignition, and stays on with engine running.
I've never come across this fault, but have heard the problem is usually one or other of the two relays under the plastic cover on the ABS pump unit (behind LH headlamp).

has anyone come across a third type then because mine had symptom one which Brian has mentioned but now the ABS light does not come on when switch the ignition and when it moves off! I don't know whether its been cured or not but wondering whether a 200 mile run in my car has made things better or worse?

do the rest of your lights come up on the dashboard when you are in the ignition key setting - battery charging light etc?

If the light doesn't come on at all now, then the bulb's probably blown.

Assuming that the pad wear sensor(s) are intact (they have to be replaced when triggered), the problem is a simple one to fix inside the cluster, so you can sort this when you replace the ABS lamp.
Do a search for "220 ohm resistor" for details.
