Hi guys, got a problem with my 1998 e46 328i
Intermittently the central locking does not work. That is the key buttons and also the lock switch in side by the hand break.
a bit of internet research suggests the GM5 could be bad
anyone seen this before
cheers Jim

Yes internal relay in the GM. If you scan it for faults there will be one stored for that.

very nice chap and did the whole job, I never lifted a screwdriver
well happy
turned out a relay needed soldering onto the PCB

That's a good service and much more palatable than replacing the GM and coding it.

yer I thought so too. He obviously does well out of it, he was fully booked Friday and there were people before and after me. All e46's. Very pleasant guy, talked me through the work he did, provided a proper receipt with warrantee and fault code print out. Can't recommend him highly enough.
