Folks, I have replacement box that I planned to use to replace the one that's in my cabby ( which is on its way out) and have just noticed its made by ZF...my current box is a Getrag... I was not aware ZF made manual boxes for the e30... are they any good?.. Assume I do have to change the prop etc... Any help would be most welcome.. Cheers

I have been reading the wiki and it advises that all e30 manual boxes were made by Getrag and ZF built the autos....I have a ZF manual box that I'm advise came from an m20b20...I'm now a bit puzzled??..could this box be from an E34?

Only way we can help is if you stick up the part number, or at least a picture.

From the part number on the side (1048401134) it comes from an E34 320i with the M20 engine.

The box itself will bolt the engine, but I have no idea of the length, and therefore propshaft you'd need to work with it.

It seems to have M20 520 painted on it.

M20B20 Ben. But I wouldn't trust the white pen of a scrapyard.

Thanks chaps,bugger.... I have no desire to change the whole drive train over.
I will have to drop Skoda an e-mail, as he supplied the box.

What a pain.

Hi Wil..problem is from the part number this box has come out of a E34 model”¦is this still applicable ?

If does fit, are the ZF's boxes any good ?? are the rations ok for an e30 cabby?”¦until i saw this one i was of the opinion that ZF only built the auto boxes.
