Quite bad steering wheel shake under breaking.

Need technical Q/A then you're in the right place

Depending on how hard I break will depend on how hard and fast the steering wheel shakes. Haven't had the car long but don't remember it being this bad when I first got it. I did change the spring on her not long ago, that might be a causal factor? Any help is appreciated.

Sounds to me like a warped brake disc.

take the wheel off and check the front disc? Can they be 'unwarped'?

I'd start by jacking it up, spinning the wheels make sure something's nothing is seized cause it to warp.

There's no real way of telling if a disc is warped unless you have a dti gauge handy.

You can't unwrap discs, would require new ones.

Check the seating area for the bolts of the wheel(s) in question. They could well be scrap.
