Hello all

Sorting a few niggles on my iS ready to get it back on the road and want to replace some of the tired looking hoses.

Has anyone bought a full silicone replacement kit for their car? Had a quick google and saw these on ebay but they are in the U.S.

Any recommendations?

I like the concept of silicone replacing natural rubber hose - should last a long time compared to rubber & better yet it might not gradually start leaking vacuum - the important point being a vacuum leak is bad BUT a leaking vacuum supply to something vacuum operated is much worse.

However the eBay listing mentions other silicone hoses collapsing under vacuum re wall thickness - hadn't thought of that happening - could it?

Perhaps to avoid collapsing under vacuum factory rubber hose is best?

Just replace all rubber every 10 years or so?

Has anyone got long-term experience of silicone vacuum hoses on a daily driver?
All you need to fix anything is grim determination – that and belief.
