Racing Dynamics did it, but what a top end belter they would have been. Thats all!

So i take it back, u can get 200bhp out of a 2.5.

Bet the conversion was not cheap though!

yup, so true *even more extreme than Hartge!

2.5 spec

-6 branch, plus full stainless system, with X pipe factor!
-thicker head gasket to increase comp ratio by 0.3:1. Compression Ratio was 10.2:1
-ECU
-spikey cam
-heavily re-worked head, gas flowed the lot, re shaping of the chambers!
-bigger valves

BHP - 204@6000RPM
TORQUE - 262Nm@4800 (how do u convert this to old money? Pounds man!)

0-60- 7.3 secs, i bet it was faster than this!
Top speed - 231Km/h

doesnt a thicker head gasket reduce the compression ratio as per the cheap fix for turbo conversions?
No longer self employed but still available for welding duties.

Yep they must have shaved the head and used adjustable cam pulley
thus increasing comp and not throwing the timing out..

bbr used to get 235bhp from a 2.5, and mk motor sport had a 3.0 m20 producing 225bhp with standard head and cam, and 260 with head and cam.

Same thought, only reason i can think of for this is to stop it pinking if they were using the same injectors as i have heard that they are only barely good enough to supply enough fuel for the standard 171bhp, let alone 200bhp.

injectors are good for 220bhp, so i'm not sure about that.

Sorry doesn't say the gasket is thicker at all! Probably thinner or they skim the heads a bit

I cant remember the guys name, but a couple years back when we did the E30 Rockingham birthday thing, there was a guy there with his E30 Sport with a 2.6 engine. Its been featured before, but that pushed out something like 238 BHP. His manifold was a racing dynamics one...looked awesome.

Why cant some one buy one, take all the relevant readings then take it back get a refund and make some replicas up in S/S?

Id buy one...even without a E30!!

Your thinking of Cliff i believe, with a Red Mtech II kitted car. He broke the car up and sold the parts on... I'm sure someone here has the exhaust manifold, it is a work of art!

He broke the car up so other people couldn't enjoy his hard work... it was worth more in parts than complete aswell... he used the money to buy a M3 !!!

Andy i only collected the turd a week or so ago, and had to spend a bit of time getting it up and running, the technical way of deducing whether it had the proper 3.8 in it was to have a 'race' with a standard 535 i have , but alas no drive on the RD car ! . So further investigation is needed, it does sound nice and the 6 branch and rocker cover are very horny !.
