Hello.
My name is Miguel. I'm from Spain. I bought a 320i euro pre on Nov. 2012. I've been reading a lot of topics in this forum since then.
But now, it's me who has a problem. This is the explanation:
I suspected that there was a problem with my throotle position sensor so I did the test procedure and it revealed that the "no throotle switch" was faulty. There was no continuity with the trootle pedal off. I opened the tps and found a lot of oil in the interior. I cleaned it and test it again. ¡It's OK! ¡It works!
I cleaned also the throotle body. There was a lot of burnt oil in the butterfly valve, so I cleaned it all. Now, as a result there is more air moving to the engine and the revs went high (everybody who has cleaned a throotle body knows this). My idle speed is now 1200rpm. I tried to decrease the idle speed turning the idle screw clockwise, but it doesn't work at all. I make 4 complete turns and the idle speed was exactly the same. I also tried the screw on the air flow meter with no success.
How can I solve this problem?
The car is a '86 320i Euro Pre with LE2-Jetronic injection.
The problem is the same with the TPS not switched, so that's not the problem.
I want to mention that this car has no idle control valve as the Motronic versions.
I hope you understando my English. :(

Your Jetronic car has something called an Air Slide Valve. In 99% of cases with high idle, this is the problem.

Unfortunately, now that you have touched the screw on the air flow meter, you will have to take the car to a mechanic to get that reset. You will also need to return the idle screw on the throttle body back to its proper position.

Thank you for your response.
I thought about the air slide valve, but I didn't touch it during the cleaning of the throotle body. I put the screws in the same position the were before. Anyway, no worries, I have a gas analyzer to set the correct % CO.
I will follow the test procedure for the air slide valve. Thank your the link. :D

I have just came back from testing the air slide valve.
First of all I want to let you know that I found a plug inside this air pipe:

Yes, I know that's not the air pipe to test the Air Slide valve. Anyway, I want to know if that plug is original stock or if it was plugged by a previous owner.

I tested the air slide valve with and without this plug.

1: Plugged: RPM dropped to stall while clamping the air hose from the air slide valve to admission.

2: Not plugged: RPM dropped to 800rpm while clamping the air hose from the slide valve.

What do you think?

I'm thinking that maybe someone put that plug to compensate the excess of air from a faulty air slide valve...

Should the air slide valve close completely when hot?
