Hello
I have an E30 325i SPORT 1990 Model. My exhaust has been blowing and I thought the time had come for a replacing it. My car is completely standard and genuine, I would like to keep it that way so rang BMW for a full system.
They sent me a backbox and a middle box but no downpipes. Also it did not match the old exhaust. I rang them back and explained that it was the wrong one and that I needed a 2 piece system.
They eventually called back saying that they could no longer get the exhaust as they had fallen out with the manufacturers or something.
I joined the forum today to see if anyone else had any experience with this and ? Also any ideas of where to obtain a genuine exhaust system.
Who were the original manufacturers of the genuine BMW exhaust system in 1990?

Have an ask in the cotwold genuine parts section, they are a tame BMW dealer that provide members with a decent delivered to door service.
Also check realoem.com as you will be able to find the part numbers you need for bits, but not strictly needed.
I'm sure 2 piece systems are still available.
Oh and some pics of your car for the OEM homos

Thanks for the reply. I have been on realoem and gave BMW the numbers!
I shall try the Cotwold section.
I need to get some pics up, hopefully tomorrow.

Cool.
Although the original exhausts are stamped BMW, I would say, Boysen, or Erberspacher(sp?) were the oem manufacturers.

Send Poweley a pm, he has a virtually new genuine BMW two piece system for sale.

If OEM avenues fail. I vouch for Erberspacher. I put a rear section on last summer and am pleased with it so far. I can dig out the part number if you need it, although it's only for the rear section but makes it easier to match with the front.maggspower wrote:Cool.

Thanks for your replies.
Sorry I am new to this forum, how would I get hold of Poweley?
If I cant hold of OE then I shall have to try the Eberspacher exhaust from ECP.

ECP do two Eberspacher rear boxes this is the part number for the better of the two 705110417. It went on my 325i (two section), you'd have to double as I'm not sure if the sports exhaust differs.
Carparts 4 Less will probably do it cheaper (same part numbers).
There some pics of it too in my thread..

It's in my shed waiting to adorn a sport near you, complete with chrome tips.

Interesting read, thank you for the information. If the sale doesn't go through I'm interested. Otherwise it looks like ECP.

Just to say thanks for all of your input.
I have done a deal with Steve for the one he had in his shed which I am hopefully picking up next weekend.
However, BMW Cotswolds actually reckon they can still get the 2 piece system, even though the Stephen James BMW dealership near me said no. but the one Steve has looks so good it would be rude not to!
I'll get some pics up soon.

I have the receipts for the two piece I bought, that was in august 2012 the two sections with no new flanges brackets etc was over £700, probably more than that now!!!
