Hi Guys

Maybe you can assist, I have a 84 3 series Chromie, I need to replace the heater Matrix as mine has developed a leak, being in South Africa I cannot find one here besides at the stealers who want 300GBP for it .

I have located 2 on GSF car parts but am not sure which I should be looking at , can anyone advise.

I think the only difference is one is for use with plastic bodied electric heater water valve & pipes to the engine the other is meant to be used with the alloy pipes & valve - maybe realoem.com might give some insight chassis no to BMW P/N to ECP P/N?

ECP seems to be referring to both of them having alloy cores which is not a helpful comment.

Get a pair of new "O" rings for the pipe to radiator seal as well.

Try http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/ everybody on here seems to think they are same (Company?) as ECP but cheaper.
All you need to fix anything is grim determination – that and belief.

The GSF ad. gives different dimensions for the two matrices, so you should be able to identify it that way. Join the two heater hoses together in the engine bay if you want to keep the car on the road.

Thanks , based on the diagrams it appears its the more expensive one I need. I have the Alu pipes not the plastic units.

Car is off the road due to con-rod meeting the block at an incorrect angle and requiring futher displacement . Causing the block to give way.
