I've removed all the wiring for the OBC from my car but when I disconnect the relay control box (the box with green connections mounted above the ECU) the car will turn over but not start (no fuel) - it's like the immobiliser is activated.

I've got a Clifford alarm fitted which is completely separate.

Any ideas on what's going on, I want to get this sorted and fit the OBC in my Touring.

Where are the OBC masters? winkeye

Cheers

CODE immobiliser connects into the car body loom at a white two pin socket with two green wires above the middle of the glove box.
On cars with no alarm or OBC, this socket is fitted with a two pin plug fitted with a short loop of green wire.
To complicate things, if your alarm was fitted by someone who knows what he's doing, the alarm's immobiliser contacts should be connected here as well.

Brian, you're not really human are you. You're some sort of automated databank :snigger:

Brian,

So if I take the loop connector from my Touring (think I saw it there  ) and put it in place in the car from which I've removed the OBC it should all work? winkeye Otherwise I'll have to make up my own loop and tidy the thing up in due course.

Cheers.

On a few occasions I've found the plug with the loop of wire taped up to the loom in cars with OBC and/or alarm fitted. In other cases the loop has been cut and the two ends spliced to the alarm wires.
If the loop wire isn't there, just transfer the one from the car that's getting the OBC as you say.

On the 318iS I bought a couple of months ago, the original alarm had recently been removed, and replaced by some weird Chinese piece of junk, installed by a gorilla with a pair of wire cutters.
The socket with the green wires was empty. The muppet had put a scotchlock across the two wires just behind the socket. DON'T!

I'm a bit of a sucker for doing things the 'original' way, hate myself for it as sometimes it's far eaiser to do a quick fix - won't bodge it with scotchlock though!

Won't get a chance to look at it until next weekend, hopefully it should all be sorted.
