I'm hoping to sell when/if they get to about 20-25k. So i will be holding on to it for a fair few years yet!

Scott why don't you go for this car as far as I'm aware its still available.

http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=88925

Its more likely to hold its value rather than the other e36 m3's I used to own number 48.

Used to have a z3 m coupe as well which was ace I will have another one day!

way too many doors ! even a pig ugly E36 touring is nicer looking than a four door turd :)

IMO if your going to have an M3 it has to be a coupe' :D
Sort of agree, if it's going to be your fun car and it comes in coupe form you really want a coupe.

I have a fun car and needed a fast rep mobile - this ticks those boxes :P
What mileage has you moor door done Steve?

Barry has a point. Yours has had a lot of work done but I cant move past the two extra doors :D

I'm in no rush now to buy anything now. I've managed to convince the boss to stay were we are rather than move.

One for you Pete. I might have to save up a little though!

She's coming up to 108k, I did send you a text n photo Saturday night. She's registered as a company car and all the paperwork is with the FD who has now gone home so I will grab it tomorrow.

It has original manuals & books in the leather ///m wallet. Some main dealer stamps but not full dealer history. There are a lot of additional receipts too. Interestingly enough it has an original sample of the Champaign seat material - Barry got quite excited over that when we went to look at it.

Has been well looked after and over maintained during my ownership as I was planning to keep her for a long while.

I'm not in any real rush to sell, the motive is condensing my BMW fleet to one and focusing on just one car and other things in life so the money from this will a) pay for some work on the E30 M52 and b) go towards some work needed on the house.

Though now its home I quite like having it on the drive. So much so I'm in the familiar territory of not wanting to sell it. They do sound very very nice! Still, it's going to Barry's tonight for an exhaust gasket and booked in for an MOT tomorrow.

£4k represents great value in my eyes, i'll be chancing my arm at more when I come to list it - will come with 12 months MOT and tax till end of July (I think)

And finally the 2 door vs 4 door saga. Yes, the 4 doors do have 4 doors and therefore are considered (by some) an acquired taste. How many people actually have deep routed feelings for them and how many have aboarded the virtual hairy bandwagon is another matter.

Still more people are coming out of the closet with their love of the moordoor and who can blame them. Undercover but with a whiff of motorsport should you know what you're looking for :P

I have converted an SMG box to manual for my M42 I had the bell housing machined to take the springs and bearings from a manual "repair kit" designed to fix a sticking gearstick in the e36.

Now works a treat. The trouble is machineing a circlip groove into a hole, normally you would do it on a lathe but you can't spin the hole bell housing so the firm I used, used a cnc Miller and a specially made tool. They are the boys though when it come to one offs.....

Edit: can't spell

E34 M5

I like this Turd.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... ink:top:en

Rear suspension problems and a lack of history would have me running for the hills.

How much money can you sink into these turds?

Even though I have an E36 Coupe, I'd always have a four door M3 over a Coupe. They're just rare and a good one looks epic - I know of an ex BMW GB fleet car that is in a funky metallic copper with black leatherz.

Dont pay top money for an e36 m3 because you wont be getting your money back quickly I can tell you that for sure.

These cars can and are still being picked up cheap. A buddy of mine picked 3.0 up for a grand last week, so they are available and remember, its winter, thats why the market is quiet.

Yes, you can get dogs for cheap. Ones worth owning aren't though.

Nothing to do with desperation, the markets quite because its winter, so no harm in putting an ad out to see what about.
