Has anyone got a working set of 535i clocks they could lend or sell maybe? I've got a throttle fault which is EML related and my symptoms match those of a guy in Canada with a bi turbo who cured it with a different set of clocks.

On the off chance but e34 stuff is rare now

Would a cluster out of an M plate 525i be any use?

Very probably. It's the correct type with manual box and OBC / check control.

What a load of Bollocks from both of you.

Just because a car does not fall into your "Category" it's got to be "Molested".
This car has had lots of money spent on it to get the HP up to where it is.
Just because "The Surrey" crew can't do it doesn't mean it's "Molested".

Oh, oh, oh the steering wheel is "Fake" with a "Alpina" badge in it. it's "Molested".
Lol.
E46 M3's are molested, as spoken by one on here.

I take it this turd belongs to a mate of yours?

Rav, be realistic.

It's got,

Hybrid Turbo’s similar to T28 Spec
Adjustable fuel regulator
Walbro fuel pump
RC Engineering Injectors (370cc)
Coil over suspension
Nasty ICE
Non original BMW colour paint
That nasty steering wheel you mention
A torque flow exhaust

and probably more stuff that's been changed.

It's highly molested.

Any what have E46's M3's got to do with it? :?

it's not Molested Rav your right I'm with you on this,It's completely foooked :)
IIRC it was for sale for long enough for around 7-8k with a classified ad on ebay with terrible pics !

instead of spending £1800 on Bespoke ICE.. the turd is crying out for a valet/mirrors and roundels it's just not presented right to attract a wealthy sick freak, in it's current state it will only attract the wrong types that have no cash :(

its also an early pre facelift car thats sporting the facelift wide grills now. Could be nothing or it could be a previous front ender with the late late M3 style wing mirrors

The 18 inch rims are mega tasty. IT was at gaydon and the exhuast was bloody awful like a pair of twin 150mm tailpipes they were huge and out of place

Pete got some spare 535i clocks i can try in my car please?!

he's tried selling this before last I heard they couldn't get a clutch that wouldn't slip because of all the power. From waht i saw of it its an ok car but not the standard of Simon13's on here.

Interestingly, I notice it doesn't have side repeater lamps on the front wings, like the earliest E30s.

I just wanted to comment on that red B10 BT..

Molested ????

well that ice,, is not my taste,, i just want an oem radio from that decade that suits the car,,,,, bingo

Coilover,,,, well if he wanna do that ,, i dont care,, but not me

Brakes....... well ,, it is always an option to go back to oem 330 mm ALPINA/GIRLING

turbos........... hell yeahhhh

exhaust indeed ....as the oem is a piece of what comes out of the behind of a cow,,,,, i have done that upgrade and in all respect its the cheapest and best way to get that enormeuos heat away

Well its all over, shes sold officially as i've actually had some money for it. After a long and drawn out affair an munich legends since the 28th june odd the car has been there.

Anyhow the straw that broke the camels back happened in May on the way home from work.............. the engine suddenly went "ding" and then brrrrrr and running very rough, no power and just horrible. There was no smoke but i had a fairly good idea by the time i got home what had happened

Image

A quick peek under the rocker cover confirmed my thoughts. Snapped rocker on number 6 inlet great. When i got the cover fully off it turned out to be 2 snapped rockers! Joy, so both rockers on number 6 snapped

Que another few weeks sat on the drive with me having the arse with it. Then a phone call asking if it was still wanting to be sold as a customer had walked in at munich legends stating they wanted to buy one! We had been thinking for a while about moving it on

So back to henrys workshop for a repair. I disconnected the injector on number 6 and removed the broken bits of rocker and drove the bitch up there! Ran alot smoother with no fuel going in, tramped up the motorway to henrys ok at 70!

Image

It grew into this, it seemed the most logical way to perform the repair

Image

Henry helped with the rocker replacement here. The camshaft has zero wear, the other rockers had zero wear so i guess it was a bit of bad luck to cause the breakage.

So we literally undone the headbolts to get the rocker shaft out and replace the offending item, re torque head bolts and repeat on the other bank.

Re fit the engine and run it up to temp and then re torque the head bolts.

Image

Going back in, naturally there we a few extra bits done along the way like rear discs and pads, plus the radiator top hose stub snapped so had to be raplaced. Plus other things i forget now

Image

Image

And this was the last time i saw her. Its kind of sad but not in a way.

How could you sum it up?

Epic car, epic repair bills. I doubt i'll be driving anything quite as heroic as this for some time. I hope the new owner has more luck with it than i did as having the engine out twice in 18 months wasn't very funny and the overiding memory for me in a way. Although my last drive home in her was great, so quick on the right roads

Bye number 445
