Just noticed the fog lights on the E34 5 series look to be the same shape and size to that on the E30, are you able to use 5 series fog lights on the E30?

Didn't get a chance to compare mine directly, we had one in work today and just noticed they looked very similar

I'm 99.9% sure they are wider.

Why do you ask? What's wrong with E30 ones?

Granted the brackets are different and would require some modification but the light looks about the same

Nothing is wrong with the E30 ones but neither of my E30's have fogs just blanking plates and E30 fogs seem to fetch £50+ in good condition. E34 fogs can be had for a few quid (yes I'm a tight git) and you have the option of the projector type fogs fitted to later E34's

Its pointless. Its not worth the energy making them fit and it will look crap. I'd rather buy brand new E30 fogs.

I've had mine along side the 5 today and size and shape not much in it at all, just the brackets that would need work and perhaps a bit of dremel action to the fog light holes.

Its not just the fact that I'm tight I like to find out other parts that can be used as E30 parts certainly arnt getting any more common place

Got the neon booked in to have the arches done next month, body shop guy seems to think they are not bad at all

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

The point is, why go to all the bother to fit E34 ones when E30 ones are readily available and for not a huge amount of money?

They are pretty pointless any way unless its the "look" you are after?

Your right I was simply asking as if the fog light its self fitted in the hole for me it would not have been much hassle to make a bracket but as valance mods and bracket mods would be required you right it wouldn't be worth it.

If only everyone could simply discuss the matter like you are instead of jumping at the chance to try and slag someone off.

Some very pathetic people around
