This guy had a full on restoration completed on an Alpina Press Car. He spent £4K on the bodywork alone. It really looks the business even though it's a more door. It'd be interesting to see what he'd be able to sell it for.

Hahahaha. I was getting quite excited at the prosepect of this rebuild thread, only to be disappointed!!
I can only express my disappointment as follows: It's like undressing a fit bird and discovering she's got a c0ck!

Indeed , though while advertised as 4 door and having come from the sorry hound in question, the interior was actually a 2 door trim. I was tempted for the B6 but not at the money they were.Simon13 wrote:is this the car the alpina cloth 4dr seats appeared on ebay recently came from? It looks totally borked

The car was less it's all impotent Alpina head, plus the rest of the engine would have suffered because of that fact, so, all in all, it wasn't worth restoring IMO!

Is that silver C2 2.7 cab still in that front garden in Croydon?

use your loaf, they crack and people replace with a standard head when they don't want to pay £3000 for a new head. Or they take a chance and get the original welded if at all.Rodderz wrote:Why would my head be missing? :/Simon13 wrote:i bet your heads been welded or is missing also. I wouldn't be able to say, but it's still on the car!
I wouldn't still have the car if it wasn't there.
That's also the reason I never kept the black E24 Alpina I had.

The sad thing was it was never offered up for sale as a project.
I'll admit, however many years ago when someone posted about seeing it then not replying to my PM's, I was interested in taking it on. Alas, that ship has sailed.

True. You've taken long enough with it!
You sprang to mind at first of someone chucking money at a project almost money no object with the car not being worth as much.
Even me with my sport to be fair!
I'll never sell though where as you have been making some noises....

I spoke to the guy about 4 years ago, he's an Audi technician, and he couldn't get the car through the emissions test, that says the head is fooked to me!bss325i wrote:Not sure, been down that road in a few years BUT i will being driving down the Purley way so I can take a detour.Rodderz wrote:Is the silver cab still laid up in that garden in Croydon?
