Hi
The car is generally pretty tidy but I noticed some surface rust on the drivers side scuttle, just where is meets the wing . So I'm going to take the wing off and try and stop it in its tracks. The car is going to have some bits of paint done on it over summer so it can be made to look pretty again then but I was just wondering what the best thing to o is?
I was thinking just rubbing it down do clean metal (hopefully) and then putting some of that rust killer paint on it, does that work or is it more likely to be a lot worse when the wing comes off?
Cheers
Matt

I had this done on mine a few years ago. Once you start prodding with a screwdriver the rust hole inevitably gets bigger.
On mine I had all the old rotten metal cut out, new metal added, oceans of wax sprayed behind and painting etc. Mine needed the windscreen to be removed as well. New scuttles are available from BMW but its unlikely you'll need one if its just rotted out in the corner.

Yea it's just around where the silicone is, the cars stored away at the moment so I'll get the Wong of and see how bad it Is, I think your right that once you start prodding its going to be worse but I can hope... We will see
