Where shall I start :) well as most on here already know the Alpina was listed on ebay last week with some crappy pics look to be in a sorry state.

Anyway long story short got hold of tcos and struck a deal over the phone without having to leave a deposit, couple days later I made the 290mile round trip down to Barry's workshop to collect it.

Once home I had to give it a quick scrub down and this is how its now looking

Its a genuine c2.5 alpina and so far I have been told it is probably the only C2.5 touring in Alpina green :)
It has all its original Alpina parts present although plaque is missing there is no sign of one ever being fitted unless console has been replaced in past.
The only thing no longer with the Alpina is its exhaust system which I think rusted out back in 2008 as was mentioned in mot advisories.
It only has 3 previous owners me being the 4th sadly no history with it, I will try and trace it if I can.
So far after a bit of searching I know the second owner from 1994 who is a managing director for some big firm is still at his current address so will try and get hold of him and see if he could help me finding something.

Plans for this are get it back up to scratch and looking its best again, will be keeping it original with only upgrade being a stainless exhaust and Alpina stripe kit.

Will update with more pics once I have cleaned it properly.

Thanks for the comments guys :)

at Simon13 I have had a read through your thread I noticed what you picked it up for back in 08 wish I had found this back then.

Where did you get your strip kit from? I will be going for the gold ones.

Notice there's quite a few e36 touring's flying about on here so here's my daily I'm smoking about in which I have had for past 3 years

Thanks csl

The e36 is far from perfect but an ideal daily smoker, have owned it for past 3 years and have only driven it about 300 miles  its now in everyday use so will be racking up some miles.

simon on the alpina register is the man for stripe kits. i meticulously designed and e30 set and was about ready to get some made up before i met simon at gaydon. when i saw what he had done, i figured there was no point as his were 100% perfect. he uses the same avery vinyl that is used by alpina! just pm him on the alpina register, look up deco stripe kits on the for sale section ;)

I'm beige inside mine, i'd buy some trim bits if you changing it! My glovebox is hammered for a start. My interior is a major beige fest.

Then some boot trim panels.

My C2 touring was dismissed by the zone experts of the time who phoned the clueless selling dealer and the pictures in the ad. Ha more fool them! I just strolled round there for a look on a day rained off work, i knew it was legit as soon as i saw it. The rest is history. Steve is giving it the love it deserves now.

They go really well the C2.5's I broke this a few years ago, the engine lives on in a 320i touring. They feel much more alive than a stock 325i engine

This was a C2 2.5 it never had a dash plaque and was a legit car. It was a rusty rotton pig that had been hit up the rear at some point in its life. Shame as it was the best looking 4dr e30 i've seen. It did go like the clappers hence why i kept the engine as it was a auto and had only covered a 115,000 Shame the bodywork was hammered on it. I've still got the boot badge stuck to my fridge in the garage. They're NLA i think

Pretty sure these a Sytner special editions, hence not full Alpina factory builds and no dash plaque.

No the car pictured above were made in LHD i'm pretty sure

the black 4dr in terms of spec isn't any different to the Green touring bar the slight badge difference

LHD ones were also known as C1 2.5. From '86 to '88 i think.

Is it just glove box and boot trim you need? I have all the interior bits just need to source boot trim, will let you know once I have switched bits over.

If you decide on selling boot badge I would be interested winkeye

Small update on the alpina touring :)

Having some spare time these past few weeks after work thought might aswell start stripping it out and getting it ready for any welding and bodywork.

Found a few areas that will require some fabrication/welding

Don't worry pacerpete will upload pics for you

Stripped out inside as will give better access to areas requiring welding, also started to strip exterior trims and some of front end.

Panel wise I will require the following -

o/s wing
bonnet
o/s/f door
sunroof panel

It will require a complete new wiring loom which I already have and also need to find a clean interior as original set is real grubby.

The rest will be trims clips bits n bobs which I have stacks of.

Once bodywork and interior is sorted I will move onto suspension and engine.

Some pics of progress so far.

Wiring loom removed

Started stripping exterior

Pics just for pacer :D

rear battery tray section

Image

n/s/r arch, this is right behind mud flap so partly the to blame lol

Image

bulk head behind glovebox

Image

A bit more stripping and poking it looked like this

Image

Image

Solid in engine bay side,

Image

Drivers side flitch section which is hidden with windscreen washer tank

Image

Drivers footwell area which to be fair isn't to bad however has been attacked in past

Image

Lastly the front battery tray section which is fooked

Image

I have been busy cutting some of the body sections I need for the Alpina from another touring which was solid.

Image

So far I have a good solid bulk head / battery tray although I think I will be ordering that new from dealers which will save me some time, drivers footwell area and rear pocket oh and a nsr arch :)

Now need to get welding sorted and out of way then in for paint.

Will keep you guys updated.

No mucking about i like it, my C2 had a hole by the wiring loom like yours all be it a bit smaller, removing the loom is the only way to be able to repair it properly. Also the other side i'd remove all that sound deadening to double check the area

Thread revival.

Not much done apart from getting it indoors and stacking up on a few parts.

On the plus side I now have the engine out of Simons 4 door c2.5 which still pulls well :) sadly can't say the same about the 320i touring its currently fitted in.
