Can any of the zone BMW employees check the build speck on this car.

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/ ... ng/1975515

I have spoken with the dealers that have serviced the car and they mentioned M sport suspension and steering.

The pictures are rubbish and difficult to make out if it has Mtech bumpers innit!

The wheels are incorrect if it has the Tech kit.

I have rang the dealer but have stopped ringing as I did not want to appear over keen.

Poor advert will not be helping him move it on.

He's interested in my 530d as a part ex.

The pics are the least of his problems . 4.5k for a 12 year old juicy turd is probably more of an issue. I reckon he paid 2k for it :)

Dan and Pacer. You boys are always banging on about the difference between the petrol and diesels being negligible :D

I'm getting more frustrated with the auto in the E39. I really fancy a manual.

Can any of you guys flash my ECU on the E39 so that it will run with the auto box swapped out for a manual?

The shift quality is crap when its cold. My box seems to hold onto revs until its warm.

One thing that really annoys the living daylights out of me is cruising on B roads at 50 mph with the box dropping in and out of lock up.

I'm a manual guy. I've had one before and they drive really well.

Check this link out. I have no idea what they are talking about but it looks possible!

Loads of coding faff, is it really worth it? If you really want a manual id say just buy one and have a less stressful life :)

Have you ever changed the oil/filter on the box? Sounds like its not working as it should to me

Yup it had an oil service when I bought it a few years back.

I wouldn't waist money on a refurbished box when the manual option is viable.

I have spoken with my local indy who is prepared to tackle coding if I swap the box diff etc.

Or I could just buy the 530i manual and be done with it!

I can't see the point in getting an E39 with anything less than the V8. The M54B30 is pleasingly swift in an E46 but it's not exactly punchy. Yes, the 540i 6 is rare - but they do exist.
E30 Touring 0.35 cD - more slippery than prison soap :)
