Had a small accident about a year ago very low impact but probably more than enough to be written off.
When the guy came to asses the damage his report valued my car at just under 6k.... It's a 320 cab 93,on the log book anyway.
Does this mean if something was now to happen the insurance would pay out around this figure?my thought is no but I'm no expert,it does have a bit of kit on it which probably at the time came in over 6k which is why I was glad.
Thanks

Why are you asking, are you thinking of crashing it intentionally, or do you just want an estimate on what the car is worth now. Was it repaired?

It must be a cracking car for the insurer to value it at £6k. If you have an agreed value, then any write off should pay out this amount. If however the value was an accessor's opinion, then they will look at the book value which could be as little as a few hundred pounds.
However, as Rtaylor asks, why do you want to know?

i think it is a sensible question. OP may want to switch insurance companies for one that has an agreed valuation just in case the value their cars on book value alone.
on another note, if an insurance company values a good e30, which is usually selling at about 5k, without and agreed valuation they offer say £500, how easy is it to argue. if you show ads of currently selling cars, do they just pay up or do they play hardball and offer half the difference.......basically how easy is it to get the actual value if it is not agreed?
£6k for a 320 cab is great btw!
