central locking issues

I have an issue with my central locking and I don't think the red/black wire mod is the solution.
It won't work to lock all doors off the drivers side but will unlock all doors fine. It all works fine off the passengers side. Any suggestions?

Wear in the linkage between the lock barrel and the central locking motor. An adjustment of the lock motor in its slotted holes might provide a fix, but an overhaul is the best solution.
If you haven't done the red/black wire mod., do it anyway.
