Looks like the fuel pressure regulator, should plug in on the inlet manifold somewhere.

#11 is the fuel return hose. Goes from the fuel pressure regulator to the end of one of the steel fuel pipes where it comes into the back of the engine bay from underneath the car.

Ignore everything I've posted so far! #11 is the vacuum hose for the fuel pressure regulator (this is M42, not M20).
The other end goes to a nipple on the inlet manifold or on the throttle body downwind of the butterfly. Can't remember exactly how on a M42, and the nearest M42 I could look at is 100 yards away and it's raining!

Just find spare vaccum on your inlet manifold and connect it

If i remember correctly, you need to remove the TB, feed the vacuum pipe under the manifold (quite awkward) connect it to the nipple on the TB, then bolt it back onto the manifold.

Re injector, yes they can stick. Try giving it a tap to see if it free's it.

Feel free, especially on Monday nights. I'm out on Monday evenings, and tend to be a little 'lubricated' when I return!
I'm still not certain where it goes on an M42, but on an M40 it goes to a nipple on the throttle body right where it's shown on the M42 throttle body in the ETK pic. that BROOMY posted, so there's a good chance that that's where it goes.
