Is farecla g3 the most coarse compound that they do? And will it remove heavy swirl marks and tree sap from paintwork. Here is a link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Freepost-Fare ... 19d795491f
Thanks

g3 is good and for £10 a tube from most mdc's it's worth a go

You don't need cutting compound to remove tree sap

Also, it is very aggressive and will do more than polish out swirls if you are not careful

To be honest it's old hat and there are far better products available

For a basic, G10 is a finishing compound so it's far less abrasive than G3. But as others say, these old compounds are a bit mediaeval. Something like Meguiars 205 might be better, after a good session with a clay bar to remove the sap.

I'd get the sap off first with a very hot soapy wash with a hand mitt. Then clay bar it coupled with a spray bottle with a solution of water with a drop of soap so the clay bar glides, that should see the sap off.

Rise the car with clean water.

Then I'd get the swirl marks out using "black hole polish" made by poor boy's world applied with an electric polisher with a medium sponge and medium speed. Then seal it all with a hand coating of "natty's carnauba wax" also made by poor boy's world.

2 hours work and your car will look mint.

Heres a pic of my 330Ci Sport after the treatment I just suggested, I have a problem with tree sap and magpies crapping - (see that bloody great tree at the foot of my drive)

If hot water does not work tar & glue remover will, machine polishing is the wrong application for what you need to do, and G3 is shite.

To remove the tree sap safely (no damage to paint work)try Bilt Hamber Korrosol. It comes in a spray bottle so you can spray exactly where you need to.

I use this instead of a clay bar as it is quick and easy to use.

It is also great to use on your alloy wheels...

Cheers Jim! Here's another shot of the said treatment. As e30den says, don't try and machine polish the swirls out until you have all the sap off!! You'll well and truly bugger the paint.
