Went to have a look at her. Lonely on garage. Re-connected battery started her up. First time. Bloody fantastic but then brake warning lights came on. Handbrake and brake. Unknown! brakes have been off all winter parked on trainers, probably needs a run. A few more weeks of hibernation as a cold spell forecast. Seen a a lot more salt wagons recently.

Checked out the electrics and then fired her up after a service. Still off road but ran very well on tickover. Cannot wait to start restoring her and I'm sure she is a keeper. I will post the photos as I go on this great journey.

The other day, did this Mondeo ARB link upgrade:

Image

I also have tie rod ends to go on (WD40 applied in anticipation) as well as new arm bushes... it's going up to maggspower for that sometime...

Today, adjusted my boot so it doesn't rattle as much (I hope). Cleared out the nearside boot well of about 10 cm of water :( Spotted a couple of pages ago here the problem could be my aerial, which I removed and taped over. Might investigate how good a job this tape is doing....

Oh, and even though technically It's up for sale and the previous owner wants to buy it back (with my work), booking myself for a track day in Llandow :o: I just can't let go....

Bottom of the page Mick

http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... Drop_Links

Yep, as you can see the bracket is no longer required. I just supplied my own couple of nuts and washers. Pretty straightforward swap.

Not sure how much improvement it is over standard fresh E30 links as mine were knackered. But it feels fine and dandy anyway.

Part number here for lemforder..

http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/index.php/Bushes

Get them cheapest from Car Parts For Less. about £35-40 for the two if I remember correctly.

@ milescook performance wise they're not an upgrade. Just built better than the E30 design therefore hopefully shall last longer.

Hooked some lights up in my garage and installed a radio so now I have no excuse for neglecting the turd. I really need to finish it, it's been 3+ years now!

Fitted DanThe's fan wiring loom and added a plug and socket to it and the fan side (look at the 3 years of much on the chassis!):

Image

Had to use a 4 pin connector as it's all the auto electricians had and I wasn't going to buy a full plug kit. The joys of living on an island

Also fitted a replacement indicator stalk as I broke the original test fitting the rear half of the cage. Bought the stalk (off Trev I think) about 2 years ago. Really need to get my act together with this turd!

Brimmed the tank, fixed my offside indicator (turns out a wire in the cab has been disconnected for at least a year), loaded it with tools and tyres and heading off to Llandow tomorrow....

Bought my neon blue car in November, think we've had two good days at the weekends on work on her. Last week was one of those days, worked on the roof replacing a seriously bent roof lift/lower bar and swivel.
Roll on spring ;)

Not black - mine's is grey.

These aren't getting fitted until next week.
