Gauging interest in a center console mounted cupholder:
A friend of mine is making a few cupholders at work, which are replicas of an original BMW cupholder.
These cupholders are attached to the front console using two screws and are very sturdy.
Pricing isn't set yet but should be less than 50 pounds shipped to Europe.

When you say you screw it to the centre console, do you mean just straight into it?
Is there no way you could have it attached to the bracket just above where its located that holds the centre console to the dash part.
Would make fitting a bit easier and less butchery
£50 is way to high though

I'll have to get more details from my friend, cost is just an estimate and could be as low as 42 pounds.

I think you need more pictures (some of product unfitted) and details of the material used (size, thickness, etc) so we can understand what the £50 charge is for.

The op is 'mrican. They have cup holders for their cup holders.
Joking aside, well overpriced for a bit of painted black metal rod. Needs to be pitched about the £5-10 mark. This is not a viable business idea, and for that reason I am out!

in fairness that could have something to do with the fact the whole centre console is loose and out of a car with nothing supporting it.
Having said that i still think its shite

I bet if you try hard enough, you could buy another car with cupholders for £50. It may not run, but at least your beverage will be secure.

No way can the empty bottle unbalance the centre console

I wasn't suggesting that dear fellow, simply that the console is not fixed in place and thus on ye p.iss

WTF is that? Surely that can't be an original BMW cupholder?!
Hey Boomerm20, ask if your mate can fabricate these, then he will have some orders on his hands.

Not an original BMW cupholder, but a copy of an original. Is it true that only us yanks like cupholders?

Not really. It's just that a properly made cupholder from a VW Passat can be fitted to an E30 for the cost of five whole pounds, so ten could be bought for the cost of the bent-wire version:

It even holds TWO cups!

Fastroad, anyone ever told you you don't half post some utter shit? Don't think I've ever seen a useful post from you, so much for 15 years of experience with e30's
Those cup holders look terrible, just man up and use your balls.
